This project is designed to help teachers understand the new qualification that is the Extended Project [EPQ] and start them off with some support and resources. The EPQ increases student confidence and develops skills required for independent working, problem solving, organisation and presentation.

This is a scheme of work complete with resources that can be used as is or modified as required.  When used with Year Six classes, it can prepare the student for any presentation unit they may be covering in Year 7.  The finished e-portfolio is used to present any work the student or teacher wishes to link up to it.

A departure this year for Mark, who has contributed D&T resources in previous years. Mark's resource aims to support UK teachers running Duke of Edinburgh Awards Schemes but also offers resources for other outdoor expeditions.

New for 2007 is Mark's addition of a video to demonstrate how to pitch a tunnel tent.

A 'jigsaw class' is split into small groups. Each group researches a topic based on one of the nine intelligences and imparts their knowledge to the rest of the class by way of presentations and interactive resources. Essentially, the class members teach themselves!

"Why can't learning be fun?" "Why can't I learn in the way I want to?" But how do people know what learning style best suits them? This webquest looks at Learning to Learn techniques.

A fun WebQuest useful for all Key Stages, but ideal for use at primary level. Students will gather information about the pro's and con's of chocolate, then design their particular campaign leaflet.

With the use of Edward de Bono's Thinking Hats technique, this project allows students to discuss and debate the dilemma of a young, well educated Japanese woman, who is torn between returning to her village or moving elsewhere.
