This unit provides sufficient material for approximately 10 hours[2 modules] in the classroom and supports the teaching of French in primary schools, covering France, its culture and family life.

Teaching languages in primary school is now a requirement but there are challenges to face. Gaelle has compiled resources and ideas that may help teachers and non-specialists face this challenge.

This project introduces numbers 1 – 20 in French. It can be used for KS2/3 teaching. Many resources can be used on an interactive whiteboard to a whole class, or by pupils on individual computers.

This project introduces phrases for a typical morning routine. It starts with providing a good deal of guidancebut by the end, students should be able to reproduce the phrases with only an image to prompt them.

This project was designed to bring together KS2 [primary] and KS4 [secondary] students combining language use and ICT in an innovative way. 

These activities were originally designed for KS2 but they also work well with Y7 groups and with SEN students, introducing weather terms and encouraging use of language.

This project covers part of the new GCSE curriculum for Spanish and with a focus on leisure activities, prepares students for a speaking task, using a BBC TV 'Apprentice' activity!

This resource is aimed at KS4 French classes and designed to help even top sets of students who tend to forget about gender and make a number of errors when it comes to articles or adjectival endings.

This project has been designed for use with children with special needs or low attainers. The topic - my day in school - has been divided into five individual sections, each containing a presentation, worksheets and tests.

The resources in this project follow and support the use of the Expo 1 book for the teaching of French. The presentations [with embedded sounds] can be used as an alternative to using the book.

This KS3 project with presentations, games and quizzes has been designed to introduce key words and phrases related to TV and film, and to extend that knowledge through reading and writing activities. 

This unit of study is part of the AS French programme used by all exam boards and targets students aiming for at least a B in their final examination.

Project-based learning is an instructional approach that contextualizes learning by presenting students with problems to solve or products to develop. Working in pairs of teams, student develop life-long learning skills. Assessment of the learning utilises the Asset Languages Scheme.

This project is suitable for KS4 students and aims to provide for a mixed ability class in languages enabling differentiation in the lesson for higher and foundation students taught at the same time.

The first unit for NVQ French and an opportunity for students to learn French in a business context. It has proved to be very successful for students at the City School and elsewhere.

The second unit in the NVQ French course - both units have seen the number of students acquiring 4 level 2 language units increasing.

This resource has been developed for Year 10-11 students who previously, had not seen success with languages. It enables them to study a language and to apply it to a work context, like running a hairdressing salon.

This 7-section module focuses on nouns, adjectives, possessives, demonstratives, pronouns, articles and prepositions, and will help students grasp the importance of the different grammar points at KS3-4.

This project covers the tourism unit in the study of French and aims to promote both independent and co-operative work through the use of web quests and worksheets.

This project provides students with KS3 skills revision whilst researching a famous French celebrity. Suggestions as to how the activities can be tailored for beginner, intermediate and advanced students are included.

This project aims to bring together students to learn and practice foreign languages through drama. The added benefits are to link the Languages curriculum at KS3 with a vocational course and to give KS5 students invaluable practice both in language speaking and presentation.

A programme of study to progress from National Curriculum Level 2 to 5 in 5 sessions. The programme will cover food and drink then be moving on to ordering it whilst travelling in French-speaking countries.

Carine's resource comprises FOUR units of study for Entry Level Spanish - School Routine, Home Life, Me/My Family/My Friends and Social/Leisure Time. There are individual downloads within the project.

This project will aim to teach higher ability students to understand and use the imperfect tense by exploiting standard school software (Word and PowerPoint) in a simple and creative way.

This project primarily for use with Year 7 students aims to assess the language learning skills and demonstrates the use of audio in PowerPoint presentations.

The project aims to establish a primary link between two classes in schools where a common foreign language is taught - the common strand in this resource is eating!

The resource is learner-centred and performance-based, and initial research into Paris monuments will culminate in students performing prepared role-plays in French, based on a tourist visit to Paris.

The project, developed for a class or Y8 students, will result in a short video sequence [2 minutes] of an activity in French, for example, a weather fore cast presentation.
