"Paperchase" is a cross curricula, stop motion animation project which has been set up with Year 9 pupils in mind. The suggested two subject areas which need to be involved are Art and ICT although there is no reason why English should not be encouraged to take part.

We suggest that the project is time-tabled near the end of Year 9 when pupils have made their GCSE subject choices and may feel that there is no reason why they should stay focused in ICT and/or Art lessons especially if they have not chosen those subjects in their options. The unit encourages continued motivation.

Apart from the artistic and technical elements, the project focuses on project management, planning, organisation and team work which are all very important skills in their own right. Not to mention, preparing pupils for the KS4 syllabus.
