Altering the activities

Here are two tips for altering the presentations to suit the needs of your pupils:

1. To quickly change the numbers involved
2. To change the timing of the slide show

In both cases it is assumed that the presentation is open but not running the slide show (you need to be able to see the toolbar to follow these instructions - i.e. the File, Edit, etc toolbar can be seen):

Changing the numbers ...

• Either click on Edit - and then Find in the menu ...
• Or use the keyboard shortcut and press Ctrl + F
• In either case, a new window like this will appear.
• Type in the digit or number you wish to change. TIP: if it is a single digit you wish to change, type a space before and after it to stop the same digit being found in other numbers or in the question numbers.
• Click on the Replace .. button on the same window. A new window like this will appear:
• If you are confident that only the numbers you wish to be replaced will be selected, click on Replace All. Otherwise, click on Replace and Find Next to select which numbers you wish to be replaced and to check the changes are appropriate.
• Repeat for other numbers as desired.

Changing the timing of the slide show

Click on 'Slide Show' menu as shown here and then on Slide Transition.

The resulting Slide Transition menu can be used to adjust how the slides appear as they change and the timings with which they do so. Use these settings (especially the Advance slide > Automatically after options) to alter the speed of the presentation. If you only wish to apply this to one slide, you can do so. Otherwise click on 'Apply to All Slides' if that is your preference. The 'AutoPreview' option is useful for checking that you have the settings as you wish.
