Introduction

This unit of work is made up of 9 one hour lessons which are to be taught consecutively. It has been planned so that Year 5 or 6 children (9 - 11 year olds) can work independently, in small groups, to produce a leaflet which explores different areas of a chosen Mountain Environment. It is a unit that builds upon personalised learning. The unit is closely linked to QCA Unit 15 A Mountain Environment.

During this project children will:

- Navigate the internet

- Complete research tasks

- Produce a leaflet

- Work co-operatively

- Become an expert on one mountain range
