Trevor Blunn, Director of IT,
Princethorpe College July 2007

I started teaching in 1981 initially teaching Design and Technology and Art and Design. I first started teaching ICT in 1993 at Avon Valley School in Rugby where I worked as Head of Technology. I moved into full time ICT in 1998 when I took a position as ICT Co-ordinator at Prospect Technology College in Reading. In 2004 I moved back to the Midlands accepting a position as Director of ICT at the independent school Princethorpe College in Warwickshire.

At Princethorpe we have made great strides forward on a cross curricular level not least in the use of digital video. Students are using free digital video software to create video resources in a range of subjects areas across the school. We also have a dedicated network area storage server for disseminating our bank of captured video resources across the local areas network. Students can access all of our digitised videos resources from home through remote desktop.

Over the years I have done a lot of work with other schools both in the Secondary and Primary sectors providing teacher training and network support. I have acted as regional coordinator for two national teacher-training schemes for ICT for the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust and contribute to the SSAT CPD programme for ICT.

From September 2007 I will be taking up a post as Advanced Skills Teacher for ICT at Cedars Upper School in Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire
