This series of tasks aims to start students thinking about some of the issues surrounding the setting up of a new business. It would work well at the start of the school year for Year 10 pupils as an introduction to what business is all about.
There tends to be no need to differentiate the material as differentiation is mainly by outcome. All pupils of all levels of ability are able to tackle the work. The report in lesson 5 works mainly as a writing frame which assists those of lower ability.
Examples of a C-grade candidate's work are included to give an indication of the sort of work produced and expectations of a year 10 pupil at the start of their GCSE course.
