Suggestions for differentiation

Differentiated resources:

Team Approach | Blank Database

Lower Ability Pupils

It is suggested and lower ability pupils work in pairs and that they utilise the Team Approach Project Brief provided. Teachers may also decide to let them access a database which has partly been set up (blank database resource). Pupils will then be able to build on the features of the database.

Higher Ability Pupils

Should be encouraged to carry out the following:

  • Include appropriate validation in their table
  • Customise their input form appropriately, so it is fit for the intended audience and purpose
  • Create parameter queries
  • Include both artwork and hyperlinks in their input forms
  • Take on the role of Project Manager during the final presentation
  • Prototype their database and make amendments after getting feedback from teacher and/or their peers
