Main Activities.
3D means three dimensional. We shall be making a three dimensional map of our classroom. We shall be using the scale map of our classroom that we made last lesson.
To make our scale map into a three dimesional one, we first need to make desks and chairs into simple shapes like cubes and cuboids.
Question: Why do you think we are making the classroom furniture into simple shapes?
To make the cube or cuboid, we need three dimensions ... these are height, length and width.
We now need to make sure that we are using scale measurments rather than the real measurements.
Now we are ready to make a net of the object, and then use this to make our 3D shape. Remember to include tabs on the Net!
Make all the 3D objects and then glue to your scale map to make it 3D.
if you have time, colour your 3D desks and chairs in. You could even mark on where the chair and tables legs are. As a challenge why not try to make your classroom walls, whiteboard and door!
