Maps come in all different shapes and sizes, here are a few examples.
All of these maps have one thing in common - the provide a bird's eye view of the area as they are drawn whilst looking down on the ground.
In this lesson, we shall create a map of our classroom. First, we need to make a list of all of the objects we can find in the classroom and measure the length and width of each object. We are going to record this information in the following class spreadsheet. (or online) and use for lesson 3.
Now we shall draw our map.
