[If you don’t subscribe to the 'Zut' website, it can still be accessed by the students at home and could be set as a H/W task, as the site is then free.]
A choice of approach according to abilities and time ...
Web quest: Group activity. Prepare a short presentation of your French town. Students are free to use any software application to present their French town however, templates are provided for Publisher, Word, and PowerPoint to save time and allow students to concentrate on the subject, rather than on the ICT design.
Interactive Web quest: This is a faster way to proceed as marking can be done with the whole group at the end of the activity, which includes a plenary. Encourage students to work in pairs as some of the tasks may be a little too challenging for students with learning difficulties.
After completing the Web quest, present your French town to the class; or if the interactive Web quest was used, proceed to Lesson 5 activities.
Lesson 5
New groups – activity, according to shared home towns.
Work on using French language learnt in lessons and encountered on the Internet. Plan a short description of your own town/village. Make the PowerPoint presentation called “Ma ville, ma région” accessible to students for support.
