Start a new document

Set the size to 500 pixels by 500 pixels

Set Canvas Colour to Transparent

WARNING – When you are working in Fireworks – make sure that you remember to select the right tool for the job

From the Tools toolbar BEFORE doing anything on the canvas

Using the text tool – Draw a capital letter P (for pattern) in Arial 96 point

Using the selection tool – select the P then, whilst pressing the Ctrl and Alt keys, drag to make a copy

Using the selection tool – select both the keys and press Ctrl+G to group the P’s together

You can rotate images using the Transform options in the Modify menu

The images in my presentation were all set into negative (white letters on Black background) using Microsoft Digital Editor Suite 2006
