Creating the colour wheel

Start a new document

Set the size to 600 pixels by 600 pixels

Set Canvas Colour to Transparent

WARNING – When you are working in Fireworks – make sure that you remember to select the right tool for the job from the Tools toolbar BEFORE doing anything on the canvas

Use the circle tool to draw a circle

Use the vector tool to divide up the circle into six segments

Use the selection tool to draw around the entire shape and then choose Flatten Section from the Modify menu.

This will basically merge the circle and the lines into one shape

Using the Paint Bucket tool – set the colour in each segment of the circle
