Circle theorems at both the Intermediate and Higher tier are difficult areas for students, which teachers often find equally difficult to deliver. In the run up to OFSTED in 2005 a series of SMART board lessons was prepared to enhance the delivery of the concept and improve student understanding. OFSTED reported the following:
| "ICT is used very effectively, for example in a Year 11 lesson to provide a focus for discussing circle theorems, leading to very good learning." |
The resources for this project include SMART board notebook files covering all eight circle theorems, examples for teacher delivery and Geometer’s Sketchpad files which are used to demonstrate theorems. The interactivity that the files provide help improve student understanding and allow students to see the full range of possibilities for a particular theorem.
