0:10   Slide 5 – get students to guess stems before revealing
0:12   Slide 6 – get students to guess endings in pairs - 4mins
0:16   Reveal endings
0:18   Slide 9 – morpion – play with endings
0:23   Slide 10 – morpion – play with je form in imperfect
0:30   Students now have 20 minutes to complete the electronic worksheet imperfect ws
0:50   If time, use morpion again to check students have internalised structure

Lesson 2

0:00   Display first slide of presentation Quand j’étais petit(e) and give 5 minutes to see how many imperfects they can find in pairs. Extension – translate them

Go through wordsnake and recap meaning

0:10   Connect 4 – any phrase is acceptable as long as imperfect is correct
0:20   Present rest of ppt ensuring understanding at each point.
0:30   Students now have 20 minutes to produce their own presentation entitled “Quand j’étais petit(e). They should be encouraged to be creative and imaginative. They should do this WITHOUT the teacher’s presentation in order to think about the imperfect. They may however use their worksheets from previous lesson.
0:50   If time, students can give verbal examples of what they have come up with as a plenary

Lesson 3

Recap meaning of imperfect as “was doing” and go through examples. Get students to guess what is under each before revealing. Try and make students aware of difference between perfect and imperfect tenses

0:10   Present rest of powerpoint – students have own copy to access
0:20   Groups of 2 or 3 to solve the mystery. 20 minute time limit Students have to produce one ppt slide saying who and why and must email it in.
0:30   Reveal first clue from the presentation indices
0:35   Reveal second clue
0.40 Reveal third clue
0.45   Students reach final decision and produce slide

Lesson 4

    Before the lesson the teacher must collate the slides with names of students on so that they can come up and present their solutions one at a time. The teacher can keep a tally of which is the most popular suspect

Teacher can run through the presentation Le meurtre de Steven Peelberg again to remind students

0:05   Students present their solutions in turn
0:15   The teacher reveals the solution
0:20   Students then have 35 minutes to fill in their own witness statement “temoignage”. They should aim to use both perfect and imperfect tenses and make it as interesting as possible. They should aim for 100 – 150 words.
