 Use of PowerPoint in History

Once the basics of PowerPoint are mastered – relatively little ICT skill is needed – the presentations can be made to use in lessons in a variety of ways. See the tutorial to help you get started if you have never attempted creating a presentation. The process is quite slow to start with but after a while it become a simple task to whip up something really quite stunning!

Revision exercise – ten facts about a person or event are flashed up. Starting with the most difficult/obscure first. See how many questions pupils need before they can work out the person/event. Pupils have to piece together the information that they are presented with to make a judgement.

Teachers can give pupils a series of slides and they have to sort them into the correct sequence of events.

You will also find examples of how PowerPoint can be used. Click on the Files on the left hand side.
