| 1 |
Introduction to enamelling
a pendant project based on jewellery work in D&T
Show video clips of all individual processes and example completed
video.
Introduction to ‘Windows Movie Maker’ and the concept
that a project created in one program will make an output file
to be viewed in another (ties in to concept from first rotation
of using FrontPage to create web sites to be viewed in a browser
and that Hot Potatoes projects output in XML format) How to
create a ‘project’ – look at clips available
– discussion of process and ordering clips into correct
order |
| 2 |
Discussion of what the
safety tips are (wearing gloves, wearing eye protection, wearing
mask, tying back long hair, etc) and where these should be incorporated
into the project. Pupils create movie project and import clips
in correct order |
| 3 |
Demonstrate – Use
of titles, credits and text overlays.
Class discussion of where these will be incorporated especially
with respect to explaining safety rules |
| HW |
Hand drawn flow
chart showing all stages of creating the pendant in the correct
order and appropriate including safety tips |
| 4 |
Demonstrate – Use
of transitions
Students experiment with suitable transitions |
| 5 |
Demonstrate – Use
of audio clips
Students experiment with suitable audio clips |
| 6 |
Evaluation of completed
work and target setting for completion of a new project –
discuss elements of a movie that are desirable – i.e.
engaging to the viewer suitable music, sufficiently detailed,
cover all safety points etc. List key points on board. |
| HW |
Make list of (at
least 10) elements of a movie that are desirable. Evaluate finished
project according to established evaluation criteria |
| 7 |
Pupils revise lesson 1
items via Q&A
Pupils view new video material to start new project –
making a cup of tea.
Discuss layout plan of project – which clips they wish
and in what order – why? How clips may be moved to and
from storyboard to collection and vice/versa - demonstration.
Can any clips be omitted? Which are the most suitable clips? |
| 8 |
Pupils continue work /
project – selection and editing of clips |
| 9 |
Revision of use of titles,
credits and text overlays, transitions and audio clips
Pupils continue work at own pace |
| HW |
Hand drawn flow
chart showing all stages of making the cup of tea – students
must used standard symbols for flow chart |
| 10 |
Review work as exists
Discuss use of other audio inputs – own taped voice.
Demonstration.
Pupils continue work at own pace |
| 11 |
Pupils self evaluation
exercise – viewing one another’s work – use
of ‘key’ targets from lesson 6 and giving written
feedback to owner of project
Pupils change or adapt projects as required. |
| 12 |
When ready pupils may
have teacher set further targets and assess project for record.
Target setting for completion of a new project – discuss
elements that may exist in ‘good’ project. List
above on board as key points. |
| HW |
Evaluate finished
project according to established evaluation criteria |
