3 Starting to edit your movieMake sure the EDIT
MOVIE menu is open
Near the bottom of the
screen, click on
SHOW TIMELINE
The bottom window
should now look like this – you may need to click on the plus sign next to
VIDEO to expand it

If you click on one of your clips, you can
preview it in the preview window using the usual recording buttons

If the clip needs
editing, you can split it at any point by using the split tool. This makes two new clips. You can continue splitting into smaller clips
and then delete unwanted ones.
When you have finished
editing your clip, drag and drop it onto the video part of the time line.

You will see that the
audio linked to this video clip is also placed on the time line. You can add a single image to the time line
in the same way and resize it for the number of seconds you would like it
shown.
Another way to edit a
clip is to resize in on the timeline, either at the beginning or the end – this
will cut off the relevant section.
Continue to drag and
drop your edited clips into the correct position on the time line. You can preview your production at any time
in the preview window. When the clips
are in place, you can then begin to customise it with transitions, music and
titles.
It is important to
understand the various strands and explain these to the students, as this is a
key to customising the production.

TIPS: It is a good idea to create a
new folder for your project and store all your files
(videos, sounds, images, text) in this new folder. It will help you to find the work you need
more easily.
