Students often
do not understand non figurative or non representational images
because they do not understand the transition between representational
and figurative art.
This project addresses an area of work that is often difficult for
students to grasp in the classroom and provides an interesting context
through which students will understand abstraction and the purpose
of manipulating images.
The use of ICT provided an interesting and motivational context
that allowed the students to overcome their initial confusion and
lack of interest and to achieve a range of creditable results.
